The California Wellness Foundation announced that Kim Carter, executive director of the California Wellness Foundation, was one of eight nonprofit leaders who received a $35,000 Sabbatical Program Award.

"Executives responsible for nonprofit health and human service organizations in California have been working under challenging conditions for a number of years, in a climate that doesn't appear likely to markedly improve anytime soon," said California Wellness Foundation president Gary L. Yates said in a news release. "The Foundation developed the sabbatical program to prevent burnout, promote the health of these executives and provide an opportunity to strengthen these organizations. We are pleased to recognize these eight dedicated individuals with the 2009 TCWF Sabbatical Program Award."

The award is intended to allow Carter to take a break or so of three months. She has not decided how she will use the time off.

"I hope San Bernardino calms down ... I can't leave in the middle of a fight," she said.

Time for Change Foundation's activities include the operation of two women's homeless shelters. The organization assists women who have been in prison, abused or are recovering from drug addiction.

Congratulation Kim!
BTW, you and the ladies were an inspiration tonight! A class act. It is a shame that uneducated people choose to tear down what they can not comprehend!

Congratulations Kim. Kim Carter and her girls were not allowed to attend tonights debate, because Mr Desjardins feared them. They left and he didn't even show.

Kim Carter acted like one of those low class women on the ACORN videos we have been seeing lately. There's no excuse for her wanna-be thuggary in this venue. If she wanted to make a statement, she should've 'organized' her bussed in teenage delinquents outside near her $85K Lexus. How dare her come in and talk down to us! She's the one exploiting these criminals for profit! Nobody in San Bernardino drives a car like hers without ill gotten money. She's getting rich off the backs of these group home residents.

Kim, if you read this, you exhibit a wanna-be thug attitude, but we all know you are a sell-out! Why do you walk on the backs of your fellow black 'brotha's and sista's? You should be helping them up too, not stepping on them and keeping them down so you can make a profit. You come off as a false prophet! "Do as I say, not as I do." Sound familiar?

Here's some free advice: Get some class, learn humility and be sincere. You are becoming a blow-hard. Lastly, try looking in the mirror once in a while. Change begins with you.
