As if playing basketball in the Luxor Resort and Casino couldn’t get any weirder, the D3-AA title game between Summit and Marlborough was delayed nearly 10 minutes due to a faulty net.

Of course, I didn’t actually see the initial problem, which occurred prior to the game, because I was in the hospitality room scouring for hot dogs and playing with the beverage gun (which was cool until the Diet Coke that I shot out of it was flat as heck), but I digress. Anyway, when I was walking back with my two dogs and my glass of water, I saw the basket below the Perry Moore Scoreboard (I’m not making that up) bended down toward the playing court while the support staff was struggling with it. It apparently wasn’t too huge a deal, as they strung together a net and got the game started at 3:20.
