Voicemail is back

For the past couple of months, I’ve dealt with voicemail issues which basically prohibited me from checking my voicemail and returning calls. Well, now that is fixed and I should be good to go. For those of you who called and whose messages I missed, I apologize profusely.

Thomas to hold football camp at Rancho Saturday

New York Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas, a Rancho Cucamonga High School and USC graduate, is holding the Terrell Thomas Football Camp this Saturday at Rancho Cucamonga High School. The free camp will run from 9 a.m to 4 p.m., is in conjunction with Rancho Cucamonga Pop Warner for kids ages 5-15 in that program.

Along with Thomas, the camp will feature Rancho graduate and current Detroit Lions safety Gerald Alexander, current New York Giants and former USC wide receiver Steve Smith and former USC defensive backs Kevin Thomas and Josh Pinkard, among others.

Caporuscio commits to Arizona State

Rim of the World sophomore shortstop Elizabeth Caporuscio, who helped lead the Fighting Scots to the Mojave River League title this past season, verbally committed to Arizona State according to an e-mail sent by Rim athletic director Josh Hill. Caporuscio was a first-team all-MRL selection for Rim, hitting .510 with three home runs, 26 RBIs and 10 doubles this season.

Cajon girls basketball surges to title game of Watts tournament

The Cajon girls basketball team, fresh off consecutive CIF-SS titles, looks to be in good shape despite graduating star players Layshia Clarendon and Darshae Burnside, as the Cowgirls have advanced to the finals of the Los Angeles Summer Watts games. The Cowgirls, the only IE team in the field, will play Los Angeles Washington at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Southwestern College.
