A technical error in the Sun this morning killed the writeup of this game, so I thought I’d do one of my own.
The No. 4-seeded Arrowhead Christian boys volleyball team got a gargantuan effort from senior outside hitter Will Quanstrom and setter David Shippee to advance to the CIF-SS Division 5 final with a four-game victory over Palos Verdes Chadwick in the semifinals late Tuesday.
The Eagles will face No. 2-seeded San Juan Capistrano St. Margaret’s in the D5 final Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Cypress College. To get there, ACA defeated Chadwick 18-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-18 thanks to the heroics of Quanstrom, who set a school record with 48 kills while adding 10 digs and seven blocks. Shippee had 50 assists for the Eagles while Josh Shaw had seven kills and nine blocks.
