Football coaching changes: week in review

I realize I probably haven’t mentioned all of these on this blog, so here are the changes announced this week in area football coaches

Marcos Fino takes over at Bloomington, replacing Tommy Conner, who stepped down after the season. Fino had been an assistant at Bloomington. He had also been an assistant at one point at Yucaipa, where he graduated from.

Aquinas coach Nick Matheny takes over at his alma mater, Fontana. Tim Pike had stepped down after the 2011 season.

As a result of Matheny leaving, Chris Ybarra is taking over the Aquinas program. Ybarra had been the Aquinas’ athletic director and softball coach and had not been coaching football, but now will be coaching football, softball and serving as athletic director.

Summit coach Tony Barile leaving the school and taking over at Eastvale Roosevelt. No word yet on who will take over for Barile.
