The score will show that Colton downed Cajon 6-1 to take over first place in the San Andreas League, but it won’t show that both teams had opportunities.
The difference was that

Colton (12-4, 5-0) took advantage of opportunites, and had more power, and Cajon (12-3-1, 4-1)didn’t. Colton out-hit Cajon only 10-9, but Colton had three extra-base hits, including Marci Valenzuela’s third-inning grand slam and was 4 for 11 with runners in scoring position while Cajon went 1 for 7 and had no extra-base hits..
The teams play again May 3 at Cajon, and unless one of them slips up against another team in the league, that contest should determine the league champion.
