Thoughts on San Bernardino County prep football trophies?

With the Smudgepot game between Redlands and Redlands East Valley played this week, what other trophies should there be out there for San Bernardino County schools?

Some have said to me that Colton-Grand Terrace should have a trophy. Perhaps something related to the railroad? Others said that any trophy should include Bloomington, the third Colton Joint district school in the Sunkist League. The trophy would go to the district champion for the year.

Another place that could have a trophy, is Rialto. The three city schools: Carter, Rialto and Eisenhower all play each other now, with Carter beating the other two this year. What would be a good one for that?

What a shame that the Sun does not remember when the Smudgepot Trophy was the prize to be had by the winner of the SBHS-Redlands game. Also back then there was the Sun Trophy for the winner of the SBHS-Pacific game. Those days are gone forever except for those who lived them back then.
