I contacted the CIF-Southern Section and spokesman Thom SImmons (above) to see if they had any reaction to the 161-2 Arroyo Valley-Bloomington girls basketball game and here is what he wrote:
“Once we became aware of the situation last week, we contacted the Arroyo Valley High School administration to express our concerns to them. We are expecting to hear back from them soon, in terms of addressing this matter, since they were still on Winter Break last week when we contacted them. Their first day back at school is today.”
The CIF-SS process is to let the schools police themselves first. Agree with it or not, that’s just how it works. It’s important to let Arroyo Valley know that they’re watching. They are expected to do something. What that something is, we don’t know.
