Carter’s Marquise Green commits to San Jose State

“I felt like I had a good relationship with San Jose State,” Green said. “He (coach) talked about me getting my degree, and when football is over, you need to have a degree.”
It didn’t hurt that his teammate, safety Leni Toailoa had already committed there, but was not the overwhelming factor.
“He lives down the street from me and he recruited me hard, too,” Green said. “But I have to worry about myself.”
Green, the third Carter player to commit in the last few months, had 54 total tackles last year, one interception,
He wants to focus on his team and has some individual goals, too.
“I can mainly just focus on my team, getting to CIF and to state,” said Green, who had not gotten another Division I offer, yet. “I want to lead the CBL in picks and tackles.”
