Eisenhower defeated Whittier 64-60 in the first round before losing to Ayala 61-45 on Tuesday.
You’ll see in some of the highlights the frenetic pace, and that was how the game was. There were no easy trips up the floor, except in transition. The pace was especially crazy in the fourth quarter, when San Bernardino outscored Moreno Valley 20-15.
Glover scored five of his 13 points in the fourth quarter to help San Bernardino stay undefeated in the Mountain Valley League.

Shown a little in the highlights is the job Kaiser did on the board, especially offensively.
Byron Wesley Sr., coach of Summit, had plenty of compliments to pay for the Kaiser team. I think he’d like his team to emulate Kaiser. Regardless I think he’s optimistic for the future, with some key freshmen and sophomores on the varsity roster.
Part of the video that I didn’t have showed that Norman (and likely the Cats) felt a little disrespected in rankings, such as mine, that had Summit ranked and Kaiser unranked even after Kaiser won the 1st matchup between the teams. You can also tell what a big deal it is to beat Summit.

Before talking about Indian Springs’ 1st win of the season last week, I’d like to say that while I don’t root for teams, I hope every high school varsity team gets at least 1 win per season. Just a chance to taste victory. I’m not asking for every team to win exactly half of their games. I just hope that every team gets a chance to savor victory.
When you’re building a program from scratch, there are bound to be some bumps in the road.
The Indian Springs boys basketball team hopes those bumps are in the past.
Indian Springs earned hits first win of he season last Friday with a 66-54 San Andreas League win over San Gorgonio, improving to 1-16 on the season.
“It was tough early on,” coach Jamaal Cannon said. “We had the Bloomington Christian Tournament and we could’ve won two, if not all three games. We couldn’t get any breaks.
“Our two games leading up to (the win), our defense was getting a little bit better. (The win) was a huge relief. We know we can beat teams.”

The 13th annual Southern California Shootout a one-day basketball event is slated for Saturday at Azusa Pacific University. While the event is not in San Bernardino County, and most of the games do not involve San Bernardino County teams, it is a well-run event in a great facility with some good games.
