Original Post:
Fontana Summit High football player Damian Alloway will make his verbal commitment at the Athletic Republic in Ontario on Monday.
Alloway, who is a junior for the Skyhawks, confirmed that he will decide between Cal, UCLA and Oregon State.
Despite making his commitment, he plans to make all his official and unofficial visits to California campuses this spring.
It was confirmed earlier in the week that Lokeni Toailoa of Carter High was going to make his verbal commitment at the same location.
It was reported earlier in the week that the basketball career of Summit High senior Darrion Willies may be done due to a spine ailment.
According to Willies, he believes he can return to the court to continue his basketball career following a second opinion with a sports medicine doctor.
“The doctor called me (Jan. 22) after reviewing my x-rays,” Willies said. “He assured me that with some therapy he could get me back on the court.”
The big question surrounding his return to a basketball court, is a matter of when if at all?
“I am hoping by this season but however much time I need to fully recover,” he explained. “The doctor said to rest for a couple of weeks then after a check up he will decide on how therapy will go.”
Willies will still try to make it to Summit’s games to support his teammates.
The team has gone 2-0 in Willies’ absences with victories over league-rivals, Colton and Fontana.
