Fearless CIF-SS Football Championship game predictions

I had a really rough quarterfinal round, going only 7-6 in picking winners. Last week went much better, as I went 5-1, losing only the San Gorgonio game. For the season , I am 299-81 and have gotten the winning team and margin exactly right seven times.

San Bernardino County has only one championship game, but I will pick winners for all the divisions that include county teams. How much could rain play a factor? Hard to tell, but but it could make things interesting.

Rim of the World girls volleyball wins CIF Division 3AA title

Rim of the World may have been nervous in the finals the last two years when the Scots lost, but this time they were calm in the face of pressure.

Top-seeded Rim captured its eighth CIF-SS title in program history and first since 2005 with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-20 victory over Los Angeles Windward on Saturday morning at Santiago Canyon College. Rim is now 8-5 in CIF-SS finals.

Rim hit  .183 for the match, but which was much better than Windward’s .051 clip. Raena Borcuk led with 13 kills, while Alyssa Ybanez had nine. Oksana Ortega was very efficient, with six kills and no errors in 10 attempts. Hailey Jones had 34 assists and nine digs.
