Update on the condition of Redlands coach Mike Mauger

Doctors were able to close up the abdomen of Redlands football coach Mike Mauger Tuesday night, according to the team’s Facebook page.

The update also stated that the odds of survival have increased and the removal of the breathing tube will be the next part of the recovery process for Mauger.

“So thankful for the Lord’s blessings and for all of your prayers,” Mike’s wife Robin is quoted as saying in the update. “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

Mauger, who has been a member of the Redlands High community for 25-years, has been in the hospital for 14 days after he was rushed to the hospital on June 3 from the high school for emergency aorta surgery.
