Redlands East Valley wide receiver CJ Harris committed to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on Wednesday.
“I decided to commit to UNLV because education wise its a great school,” Harris said. “They also have a different mindset with the new coaching staff.”
Harris decided on UNLV over Nevada, who had also sent the receiver an offer. He believes that he is a great fit for what the Rebels do offensively.
“I will fit right in because they throw the ball,” he said. “That is what I am all about. Catching the ball and scoring touchdowns.”
Harris was a vital part of REV’s offense during the 2014-15 season as a junior, that was capped off with a CIF State Division 2 Football Championship.
He had 59 reception for 862 yards and 10 touchdowns. He played in all 16 games.
Despite what he accomplished as a junior, Harris believes there is still room to improve going forward into his senior season.
“I can improve my mindset a little bit more and become more of a leader for my team,” he stated.
