The New York Times has a story about a growing technology sector that allows parents almost up-to-the-minute insight on how their kids are faring at school, by allowing teachers to post -- and parents to access -- daily attendance and grade reports. This will sound familiar to folks in El Segundo, Hawthorne and some others in the area that use PowerSchool (one of many companies to provide such a service).
5. Lastly (for now anyway), USA Today just today ran this piece about a downward trend in attendance resulting from text message-driven threats of impending on-campus violence. Anyone noticed this happening here?
