It's the media's fault
When Sen. Charles Schumer said he was worried that IndyMac Bancorp was
on the brink of failure, the Pasadena Star News reported it. Because,
you know, it was news. The ensuing run and collapse of IndyMac was then
blamed on the messenger, not Schumer or IndyMac's practices. You wonder
when someone is going to say, Why did the press write about Sen. Henry
Reid's "bankrupt" quote about insurers?
