One million miles ... without crashing?
There have been periods in my life when it seemed I couldn't go anywhere without dinging my car on a pole, wall or another car. Thankfully, that hasn't happened in a long time.
But Jose Garcia and Carlos Castillo ... now these guys are another story.
Garcia, 47, of Pico Rivera and Castillo, 38, of Walnut are both drivers for Con-way Freight. They drive the big 18-wheelers - the kind that look like the side of a building when you pass them. And they have both managed to log 1 million miles of driving without a single accident!
It's beyond me.
But Con-way is honoring them for displaying "the ultimate measure of their commitment to safe driving." And as a mere mortal of the road, I salute them, too.
