Rowland Heights triple
It appears that what was originally reported as a stabbing (assault with a deadly weapon) early Wednesday, has turned into a triple homicide in Rowland Heights.
This is what we know. Three people, a man and two small children, are dead. The man was apparently stabbed to death. Authorities aren't saying how the children died. Neighbors near the crime scene just south of Fullerton Road and Colima Road said the children were suffocated or strangled.
A woman, the children's mother and wife of the dead man, is undergoing questioning at the Walnut Sheriff's substation.
The woman told police...
... that she left the house early Wednesday to go grocery shopping. When she returned home sometime after 7 a.m. she found her husband's body and reported her children missing. Neighbors describe the woman as distraught.
They described the children as cute. Playing on their scooters and swinging plastic baseball bats in the front yard.
Their mother was described as Asian. Their father was described as white.
Homicide detectives and coroner's investigators poured over the scene well into Wednesday afternoon. Very few official details were made available.
Some officers seemed more amenable to the television media, particularly Channel 5 (home of Hal Fishman), than the print media.
Others, (a Walnut Captain and Lieutenant) were nice enough to bring pizza and diet 7-Up to me, SGVN photog Leo Jarzomb, and Carlos Granda of Channel 7, while we waited to speak to detectives about the murder.

This is one sick world If this mother/wife commited the crime or had anything to do with the crime it is truly disgusting. Us mothers only hope and pray that when our kids grow up to face this tough world that they can live safely with a little peace. We are suppose to be our childrens protectors not some ghastly predator. What happened to "family" the definition and it's true meaning. Family is our rock, our harbor, our refuge. Husband,wife and children. This crime is unbelievable. I hope and pray the murderer is not the mother or wife.
