Temple City or Mayberry?

Kids went back to school in Temple City and for the first time in anyone's memory there, they are dealing with the aftermath of a drive-by shooting. Police suspect Deandre Netter was shot and killed by former classmates.
I think the most interesting element of this is how the tension has even filtered down on to the football team. During preseason drills, an assistant coach and student got into an argument over the shooting, What's even more interesting is how the school district has dealt with that element of the fallout.

I don't understand how the suspects arrested in the Carl's Jr. stabbing suddenly turned from white supremacists (according to your paper), to members of a Latino group called "Brown Side." I also do not understand how you could report that the young man who was stabbed could be mistaken for Netter simply because they are both African-American! The two looked nothing alike. Trying to find a story is one thing but irresponsible reporting to get to that story is quite another.

I understand PSN is a Pasadena based newspaper, so the residents of that city don't want to be made to feel like they have the market cornered on homicide.
However, the article reeked of hyperbole in insinuating that Temple City wasn't "Mayberry anymore". Yeah, one murder completely destroys the city. Last I checked, they had everyone involved in these acts in custody.
In so far as the altercation between the coach and the player, what else did you want the admin to do? Fire the coach? Cut the player? Publicize the incident and draw more attention to it?
And I agree with the earlier post...anyone who saw Deandre and Don would know that they don't look alike, both facially and body wise.
I know articles like this move papers, but this article was more sensational than representative of the current state of Temple City. I sure didn't see any articles about the lost innocence of Arcadia after the guy barricaded himself in the house after killing his wife.
