Detectives are investigating a woman's dead body found at a park in southern Arcadia today, officials said.

The unidentified woman — whose name is being withheld pending notification of family — was only described as a an adult, said Maribel Rizo, a deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Her body was discovered about noon at the Peck Road Water Conservation Park, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Rizo.

Sheriff’s department detectives are assisting Arcadia police with the investigation.

No further details were immediately available.
