Prostitutes in the SGV on the map
Reporter Jennifer McLain put together a comprehensive story about her two days taking part in a sting operation aimed at prostitutes using Internet services to advertise their services. In all the sting netted 37 arrests primarily in the West San Gabriel Valley. Jen's got some great stories about the operation which she's been sharing all day. Here's a map of the locations that were raided this week:

My, my, my lookee at all those in the District of Sexy! I guess you can take the strip club out of East Pasadena but you can't take...
There is always South Arcadia Miss H...
great work, police! now, spend some time working on the homocides in the SGV and stop bilking tax payers out of money by providing services of nominal benefit. Wow, now guys and girls who like sex so much they're willing to pay for it, are going to jail.
its little surprise the prostitution story is the most read on the tribue website. the paper knows that people (lazy cops included) are MORE interested in sex than other crimes that dont involve them.
"...working on the homocides in the SGV..."
That may be next weeks lewd conduct sting at the county park. Now if you are talking about homicides, that may be a different story.
Again, this is further proof that our police departments are heavily OVERFUNDED.
I never give to police officers asking for donations nor do I support any additional bond measures to "put more officers on the streets".
Whom are we "saving" here? Nobody. This is also an extremely ineffective way of stopping prostitution. Ever notice how police never show statistics about how many prostitutes are no longer advertising, and how much more difficult it is to obtain sex? It's because it DOESN'T WORK. The police can't remove the sex workers because if they did, they'd be out of the easy kind of work.
Do not give your police any more money until they change this behavior.
Interesting view...
Cops seeking donations would usually be on behalf of their union or association. So that would be the annoying phone call or letter that you receive. A great majority of that money goes back to the local community via donations, granted in the name of the POA.
Tax increases, another matter. Be it to the general fund or a specific line item for public safety. Two different animals.
Take your pick on the views. Some people say that the oldest profession in the world is victim-less. That must mean that the narco violations and use that usually goes along with it are victim-less. Or what about the homeless teen that is pressed into that same victim-less business...on and on.
yea yea there is always a homeless innocent forced into the trade..........
Use of drugs or trading money for sex by willing adults will never be stopped, trying to get the cops to stop it is a waste of their time and our money. Legalize vice within limits and tax it. The revenues can be used to stop adults from preying on children , a completely different topic.
"Use of drugs or trading money for sex by willing adults will never be stopped"
I agree, especially when some of the biggest offenders are sitting on local city councils.
Well, you are right in saying that it will never be stopped. But the majority of folks do indeed want it enforced. That same majority is why it has not legalized it in CA. We are half way there though, want to offer "massage" in our town, we at least require a license to give the appearance of legality.
As to the local leaders participating...call em out. Let's see their photo on the front page.
"But the majority of folks do indeed want it enforced"
I disagree, Most people want it out of their neighborhood, out of sight out of mind. Most people wanting something is a poor criteria for law enforcement. What if most people decided someone should be lynched?
Good acronym is NIMBY,,, "not in my backyard"...so leave it alone if the apartment they operate out of is not next door to you?
Or perhaps limiting their services to Colorado in East Pasadena?
And lynching? Maybe in Tombstone...
I just love love.
It's all good! Merry Christmas!
