Yes, the posters on your blog, seem to be genuine, whether one agree's with them/you or not.
Public/elected/law enforcement officials should be aware of a blog like this, to use as a tool to stay in touch with the community. Take the info for what it is worth.
The politicians I know by and large say they do not pay attention or even read blogs. I don't buy that for a second and if they don't they are not thinking clearly.

They are all about creating an image and maintaining it, in most cases.
If the public knew even a fraction about what some are about, they would have never been elected in the first place.
In the bigger city, they have their staffers look at the blogs for them. The smarter ones are aware.
