Directions in Pasadena
This note circulated around the Pasadena news room this afternoon. There are some important clues in it to finding ones way around town:
city blocks are numbered by 100s. so, we are in the 900 block of east colorado boulevard. in old pasadena, the shooting then was not in "the 20 block of east colorado boulevard." no such animal. it was in the 100 block of east colorado boulevard. the east west north south part very important for readers. every difference in the world from 300 south michigan avenue to 300 north. there is no such place as 300 michigan avenue, or not in pasadena. a very few streets that don't cross colorado -- and this includes lincoln -- don't need a north or south on them; they are the exception, thanks. p.s. the easts and wests start at fair oaks; the norths and souths at colorado. most east-westers are boulevards; most north-southers are avenues. again, there are exceptions.

Pasadena, where I was born in 1954, birth/home of my ancestors. It saddens me to know that Pasadena is still prejudice, discrimatory and racist, just look at the division, you don't have to be a rocket scientist. When I was a kid the Pasadena Police, would talk to kids etc./community policing, now they have there own corruption/discrimination! The problems with the gangs are not race related but from the dysfunction of the haves and have nots, the problems are drugs cyrstal meth amphetamine according to all the young people I have talked to, from church to family. I no longer live there nor do I find it attractive. When a city can take care of there own, then it will be good! I am a pround American of the Vietnam Era, so sad to know that Pasadena has gone down hill looks are deceiving, not all white people are prejudice though I worked with many, but remember all the hate from the 50's 60's and white flight in the early 70's can you imagine, oh well, there is hope.
you can use this chart to see the divisions, by class, color, race, etc., Pasadena one of the most prejudice cities in the world. shame on Pasadena and the police there, so much hate, drugs ruining lives, cyrstal meth out of control, when will anyone care?
