So they want to call Monrovia the "All American City" what a joke. Monrovia police do not care what happen in our neighbor hood. If that is the case something will be done. I grew up in Monrovia and we had none of these problem. All the Blacks and Hispanics grew up together got along. The police let this get out of control. It's to many innocent people dying in this little town. The little boy that was shot on Saturday 1/12/08 was my neighbor his grandmother was my babysitter and the young man never caused any problems with any one and the gentleman that was killed on 1/13/08 was my cousin. Innocent people are dying for no reason. These are cowards when you have to shot people from behind and espcially if there not gang related. Something needs to be done and I believe that something can be done, put more cops on the streets. If some one can commit a crime i broad daylight that is to let you know that the cops are no where to be found. Hell Monrovia is worse than L.A. Monrovia P.D. need to wake the hell up and do something about this.

Regarding the poll: How can someone "not care?" Why is that even one of the possible answers? At this point, I'm not even allowing my teenage children to walk anywhere within city limits. And if the people on Primrose think they have a problem with speeding, let them come down below the railroad tracks on Mayflower and have a go at it! Monrovia City Government doesn't care about the citizens at all. They just want to line their pockets. Most people I know have felt that way for years. I'm so sorry I chose to buy a house here. Unfortunately, I'm one of those financially limited individuals who don't have the choice to get out.

Monrovia has been slow to respond to drug dealing in our neighborhood -- and we've been complaining for years. Monrovia PD says their hands are tied. Well the recent shooting sprees makes we want to move even more.

Not to lesson the horror but some of these shootings took place in unincorporated LA county that use a Monrovia postal address. Their issues may well be tied to LA Sheriff and the MAD counsel not MPD.

That could be very well why their requests for assistance are met with "our hands are tied".

As a tax payer I do not want to annex and absorb the unincorporated areas and pay to clean them up. If they want to join they need clean themselves up first and work with LA Sheriff to get it done.
