Behind the headlines

This is video of the taping of Behind the Headlines with Ralph Walker. The show, which airs on cable television, was a wide-ranging discussion of the ongoing violence in Monrovia. If you plan to watch, set aside an hour. It's long but interesting.

Frank, I listened to the interview all the way through and can say that much of what has been posted on this site was addressed and expressed through the dialog...(in my opinion). There's always good that comes from adversity and the horror of all these events showed a small community that for any resolution to come about it has had to take the WHOLE community to join in hands...NO one can feel "priviledged" or live in a 'bubble' based upon where they reside. Fear can be such a wonderful emotion...Monrovia will move past this...as long as folks remember to not forget! ( Seems to me that it wouldn't be a bad idea to collage these tradegies right in the uptownof Monrovia as a permanent display & reminder of WHAT CAN HAPPEN if we allow ourselves to forget)

More people need to see this, hear this and decide how they want to act to help fix things. Thanks for sharing. I put it out on blogging.la as it is very relevant to all of LA as we all share the problem and share in the solution.

I "heard" that there was a shooting Friday night off of Goodall and California?
Driving east on Huntington Drive, passed California around 5:30 pm this evening, there were two different squad cars on either side of the street within a block's proximity of each other ...had guys out of their cars on the curb...they were hispanic... I don't look at these stops as a mere glance any more..and I'm grateful for the presence of these officers!

Berta..you were in my 'hood and didn't say "hi". Kidding, but would like to talk with you sometime.

Kidding aside I am unnerved and VERY grateful to see the additional officers all over the place on CA and CO aves down past Huntington to Shamrock. I worry what will happen if all the bad buys aren't rounded up by the time the additional enforcement leaves.

frank ,
sorry to call you out frank but you come off as a winnie with really no argument against mr. walker he practically told you wat to say . you aslo forgot to mention key things for example
1. hector acosta had no gang ties at all
2.mr. rollins does have gang ties as his nephews got arrested but released wonder why ??
3.brandon lee as most people know he was involved in more than football wich is a quote from fox 11 friday night news (wich you should watch) maybe that ways you would remember key information wich you verry mysteriously forget .

What happened on the corner of Myrtle and Cherry ave in Monrovia last night around 10:30? I seen lots of police cars and they had yellow crime tape eveywhere!! Has anyone heard anything?

we have to extremes. One is Pro farakhan/African race only and the other is about money... writing whatever sells and butchering the truth to sell papers.
