I wonder if the police alerted LAUSD about the restraining order...

Can you imagine if Raigoza would have lie in wait at his estranged wife's workplace... the school where she worked?!

LAUSD ought to have a policy that any employee with a restraining order should be called in for a psych evaluation and given a couple of weeks work suspension to decompress. I don't mind if it's paid leave either.

The victim was not a teacher. She was an administrator at district headquarters.

That building has a heavy police presence at this time, from LAUSDPD. That's a fact, but the rumored reason is that the victim's new boyfriend worked there also.

Thanks for clarifying, InTheKnow, that Ms Acosta DID NOT work at a school, however, if Raigoza did work at an LAUSD school, I hope the police informed his work place of the restraining order...

We are all human - but it would be very unsettling for me to realize that my child's teacher was given a restraining order. Obviously this man was have done something threatening to his wife in order for the order to have been granted. The school should have been notified. Now he is on the loose - and what are they telling his students?

THIS HAPPENS WITHIN THE DISTRICT MORE TIMES THAN THE BOARD WOULD LIKE TO ADMIT. IN SCHOOLS AND THEIR ADMIN BUIDLING.
MAKE THIS AN OFFICIAL NOTICE THAT NOTHING WILL BE DONE UNTIL SOMEONE IS KILLED ON THE INSIDE.......
HOW UNFORTUNATE.

Unfortunately this district has many employees who don't belong here. Honestly. I've gotten to see quite a few. From teachers to T.A's. Stalkers, pot smokers,,etc..How sad to know that our kids aren't as safe in school as we thought they were.

Unfortunatly things went this far.The divorce had been going on for more than two years. Was there ever an investigation on the restraing orders? From what i have heard she was a compulsive liar.Telling people her mother and her were suffering from cancer, filing fraudulent insurance claims, even lying to the district about health issues, having an affair with a district employee while still married, and it went to the point of abuse on their children. Not to mention walking out and leaving him with a $1800 mortgage, over $30,000+ in debt, $1880 in child support, a dying mother, and tampering with his pay, since she worked payroll at LAUSD.Could he have been under stress?More than likely.Whether he is guilty or not, I wish him all the luck. The crime could have been avoided, but nobody heard his cries, remember, he's the man, and men have no rights when it comes to domestic issues. The woman is ALWAYS right in the laws eyes....For her and for all the victims of crime, rest in peace.
