Prostitutes in the SGV busted

| | Comments (8) |

UPDATE 11:11 a.m.

Some early numbers from this story which will be reported more deeply by Jennifer McLain in Saturday's paper. Detectives target the owner of several massage parlors, who apparently lives in Rowland Heights. They busted girls working there then had decoys pose as prostitutes and busted johns as well.

So far detectives are reporting the arrests of 14 johns, six prostitutes and one madame (for keeping a "house of ill fame", which is apparently defined in the California Penal Code)

Wow - Innocent teens gunned down in Monrovia and the Calvary is busting massage parlors in Hacienda Heights. Perhaps those assets would have been better used with a Show of Force patrolling No Mans Land.

Why don't they go after gangs and drugs and illegals I guess they fixed all of those problem.

Law enforcement is so full of shit. Waste of time and money.

I bet the police have new cars and the school look like shit.

They have know one else to pick on so they pick on women just a common thief.

Thanks for the blog space. It does make you made that this is grabbing newspace in conjuction w/ people dying on the north side of our valley. Yes, this is a community problem. But shooting of innocent and none innocent people certainley need to be the number one priority!

Hey,

The police should go after prostitutes on the streets not in massage parolors. Seems to me more crime is associated with street hookers than non street hookers. However this is much easier and it gets politicians happy during election year. As usual the areas that need the most work get no help.

PROSTITUTION LEADS TO MORE CRIME NO MATTER WHERE IT STARTS. WHETHER ON THE STREETS OR IN A BUSINESS, SOME OF THESE GIRLS ARE FORCED TO BE WITH THESE "JOHNS" AGAINIST THEIR WILL. YOU PEOPLE THINK THAT THE POLICE HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THIS MADE NEWS BECAUSE THIS IS A ONGOING PROBLEM. GANG MEMEBERS AND MURDERERS ARE ARRESTED EVERYDAY. JUST BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MAKE THE 8 O'CLOCK NEWS DOESN'T MEAN ITS NOT HAPPENING. EVERY POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS DECTECTIVES THAT WORK DIFFERENT CRIMES. VICE WORKS MOSTLY COMPLAINTS FROM THE COMMUNITY. TELL YOUR NEIGHBORS TO KEEP QUIET THEN UNLESS YOUR FOR PROSTITUTION.

Most likely all the guys will get off without any criminal record. Unless the place was bugged each of them will say they were there for a massage only. As long as it was a business there will not be proof beyond a reasonable doubt. That is unless the officers walked in on a sexual act.

As far as The Truth Hurts you are half right. There are some places where the women are forced to work illegally. But this is not the case everywhere. Prostitution does not always lead to additional crime. Go to Nevada where it is regulated and you will see that the world's oldest profession can work.

My main comment in the defense of the police is that they are obligated to investigate and respond as requested by citizens and directed by politicians. I also agree that low life thugs aka gangs are way out of control. If it were my decision, I would allow cops to shoot and kill all gang members on sights(all such as black, latino, white supremacists and skinheads, hell angels, etc.). These maggots do not contribute to society and none of them are worth shit stained toilet paper.

First, truth hurts, no need to use all caps. Second, there are workers who are forced to work in sweat shops. Does that mean we should make free markets illegal? That whole argument is bunk. Prostitution does not lead to more crime - it just needs to be legalized. If I go to a bar and pick up a girl, that's not illegal. If I go to a bar, pick up a girl, and then pay her, all of a sudden it's illegal. It's BS.
