Richter recap
Here's what we know about the investigation into the missing persons case involving a former police officer who disappeared just after Christmas:
1). The "badly decomposed" body of former Pasadena police Lt. David Richter was found beneath a freeway overpass in Irwindale last Thursday.
2). There was a weapon at the scene, according to Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner.
3). Richter's girlfriend, Noah Beltran, personal assistant to interim Pasadena police Chief Chris Vicino, has been placed on paid administrative leave for "misleading investigators" who were searching for Richter.
4) One of Richter's cars, which had been originally reported as missing, turned up in the garage of a friend.
5) Despite the discovery of a gun at the scene, no suicide note was recovered from his body, either car or his home.
6) Investigators from Irwindale, who recovered the body have been asked to remain silent about the circumstances.
Questions of the day: Is there something more sinister than a suicide going on here? Why all the mystery?

I see no mention here of the race of each of the individuals. That must mean no gang involvement is even possible.
David Richter had thousands of dollars of tools stolen from his property during construction of his new house in Arcadia. His older car, parked (stored) on construction site at the time, was also broken into. This is why he decided to store his car and any expensive tools in some neighbors' garage. (He had mentioned this to several neighbors. Police did not question any of his neighbors at any point after his disappearance, or they would have learned of this on day one and the car would not have been reported as missing.)

Great investigative skills Anonymous. There MUST BE a conspiracy.
There is definitely more to the story which the public is not previed to and is unrelated to the 'girlfriend.' Therefore, it is unfair to pass jugment or sum up a conclusion without having all the information.
David Richter was my uncle, and a great man. My feeling is something is not right here, but I leave it to the Police Dept to investigate. Uncle deserved better than to be found decomposing under the 605 freeway alone...he would never have wanted to be found that way. If anyone has any information please come forward... help bring some peace to my uncle and our family.

The L.A. Coronor issued a report yesterday
david is the grandson of Henry & Catherine Richter, both well known Calif. artists. Catherine lived in Laguna Beach and had helped with the Laguna Art Festival for many years.
they said his gun was found in his right hand yet the injury was on the left side of the head held at a point where it would make it impossible to shoot yourself!!!
