Really bizarre story out of City Terrace this morning. Taxi driver picks up two women rides them out to the Ramona Gardens project. Somehow they end up stabbing the cabbie. He wrecks. There's two dead and one injured.

LAist sums up the tale here.

The taxi driver must be new to L.A. area, even the cops won't drive into Ramona Gardens alone. Ramona Gardens is infamous for being gang headquarters for the mexican mafia and hazard grande gangs. Never ever drive around Ramona Gardens at night, or daytime if you value your safety. Looks like a little karma happend in the end.

Not remarkably, the LA Times listed the girls who died as "Victims". Assuming the facts are as they have been stated to the police, and reported, since when does someone who lures a cabbie who is trying to support himself/family, into a robbery situation, then tries to slash him to death with a box cuter, a "Victim"? Naturally, out of respect for the family, this is a tragedy; however, the moment we discover that indeed the girls were luring the real "Victim" to a place where he could be robbed, then I propose someone slap a booking number under their highschool mug shots, honoring them posthumously with the title "Suspect", and re-publish the real story about how being a thief can be an unrewarding career.
