EMF's reach

| | Comments (6) |

A few months back we had a meeting with police officials from Baldwin Park and they mentioned that the city had a problem with members of the El Monte Flores gang in their city.

There are already two gangs and a tagging crew that lay claim to the city, so having members of a fourth undoubtedly makes for some headaches.

Turns out that EMF may reach all the way into Covina, at least that's what sheriff's deputies are telling us in the wake of arrests in the Michelle Chien murder case.

Here's a little history of gangs in the SGV courtesy of a site that calls itself "Gangland Express."

Regarding EMF:

El Monte is an old barrio and home to the famous El Monte dance hall wich is gone now. That is were alot of the pachucos' idols would sing songs like, Earth Angel, Night Owl, 18 with a bullet, Duke of Earl, and Sitting in the Park. It is also home to El Monte Flores. This is one of the largest gangs from the SGV, and most spread out.

Frank,
Re; EMF and old days.
Bet there are still off-springs out there from White Fence, Bartlett St.Boys, Sangras, El Monte Hicks (their past time was shooting at planes taking off from El Monte Airport) from Hicks Camp)and the list goes on. The world would be a better place without'em.
AND what's wrong with Johnny Ace at El Monte Legion Stadium singing Night Owl? Art Loboe kept the peace, no one left with bullet holes.

EMF tagged up Lynwood High School before school started. Adminsitrators were puzzled why they would do this. Several areas in front of the school have "El Monte Flores Gang" still there. Gangs in that area want no part of any East LA or SGV gangs, whether they hispanic or black. They know that gangs from these areas long established before any othe neighborhoods in that area. EMF can be dated back to the 1950's. A gang like EMF has a sizeable number of members that can rival anybody.

When I grew up in Monte, Flores was the biggest gang there and it controlled every thing. The other gangs as North Side Monte, and Monte 13 didn't even matter. That was in the late 80's. But from what I see now FLORES has grew tremendously and they have more than tripled in memebers. I see men now that were just boys back then still bangin and down for the cause of EMF, that saddens me and yet I think I knew that back from when I was 16 going to High School with these men.
