The FBI Tuesday released the preliminary results of its Uniform Crime Report. There's some interesting stuff buried in the stats from area cities with populations over 100,000.
For example:
Pasadena had 74 percent increase in rapes and West Covina had a 62 percent increase in rapes.
Violent crime in El Monte was up 9.2 percent; the national average saw a 1.4 decrease.
Norwalk saw a 7 percent increase in violent crime. Most of the increases in both cities can be attributed to assaults.

Frank,
I could never understand why the FBI makes a big press release about crime stats 6 months old, this is June 2008, what about the 1st quarter of 2008?. Do we have to wait until Thanksgiving for the that?, are they still using 'dial-up'computers?
