The yearbook story is disgusting, are there adults employed at this school?
I am so tired of people looking around for things to get offended by. As I said on the Class Notes blog, it was clearly an accident. Several students from the school have posted to the Topix site and explained what happened.
If the saver page for an Asian student group had been printed by accident and it had names like "Pei King Duc" or "Kim Chi" or "Sri Ravulongtime," I doubt we'd even have read about that in the Tribune.
This isn't boohooing or playing the race card this is just plain wrong and racist. It may have never been meant for publication, but it was, at the very least the faculty adviser has to be reprimanded.
We are all fed up when people cry wolf, but by malice or neglect this is the real, hateful, ugly deal.
