Geragos to file suit in Cho case

The strange case of Michael Cho is about to go big time as celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos takes the family’s case to court.

Geragos is scheduled to hold a press conference in Los Angeles at 11 a.m. today to discuss his case against the La Habra Police Department for their handling of the incident.

There’s a Justice for Michael Cho web site that’s cropped up as well.

I’ll update this after the press conference… looks like Geragos is going to release a video of the actual incident.

Some local connections in the case. La Habra Police Chief Dennis Kies if a former member of the Baldwin Park PD

Michael Cho attended Walnut High School.

  1. Baldwin Park PD alumni are leading interesting lives–Kies and Gunderson on their respective hot seats.

  2. I doubt Kies is on any hot seat regardless of Cho. By the way, Kies started with Monrovia in the mid-70’s I believe.

  3. Come at a cop with a tire iron and what do you expect? Nice people sometimes go off the deep end but of course always blame the police for their actions that lead to their own death.

  4. This behavior is similar to Baldwin Park Police Department officers. Several unarmed young men have been provoked then shot by officers from Baldwin Park. Remember the Target shooting, the El Monte donut shop after a chase, Root Street after a chase, etc.? Then, there are the many who have police dogs chew on them for a while before police officers call them off. We will probably read about that next. Cho’s family should check the civil suits against Baldwin Park Police and the City of Baldwin Park. It’s all on record.
