A letter from Albert’s mom

Willene Garcia, whose son Albert wsa shot and killed in Montebello on June 21, heard today that a juveniule suspected of involvement in the slaying has been arrested. Here’s a letter from Willene:

Earlier today I received a phone call from the Chief advising the arrest of one suspect.  I was told a follow-up call would be placed to me later on today.

I’m very happy that they caught this guy. I’m curious to find out who he is and what he looks like.  I cannot wait to see him face to face.  I want him to know exactly what he has taken from me and my family.  Albert’s brother Dominic cries himself to sleep almost every night, and so do I.  Dominic started school this week and it was rough.  Usually Albert would give him a Pep-talk before starting school and he wasn’t there this time to do that.

The thing I miss most about Albert is how loving he was.  He would tell me he loved me all the time and give me a big hug.  When I was sick he would be the one to take care of me.  He was like the little man of the house.

  1. My prayers are with you and your family, and the souls of your two loved ones lost…
What an admirable “little man” he must of been. You can see it in his eyes, and you did a job well-done instilling his core. i never knew him, but i miss the opportunity of not possibly ever meeting such a kindred spirit. Though i have never met you, the magnitude of this tragedy has touched me deeply.
I know the boy that is accused, also. It saddens me knowing this is the reality of the situation, for you and your family. It also saddens me for the family of the boy accused.
I judge nobody, and am not in anybody’s corner; i’m on the side of justice, and it prevailing factually. Taking one’s life in this magnitude is an inexcusable act, and the responsibility of such a heinous act needs to be accounted for, at barest minimum. I pray that the truth be brought to revelation before anybody judges anything.
I pray for your courage to go forward every day, and the courage of your boy to go forward. I pray for your adacity to endure the trial, and have to face the accused everyday. may the courage of your family hold strong and unite. if the accused is proven to be the one, pray for his conversion.
May God be with you and your son,
    a frind in Christ
