The funny stuff after his name probably means thirteenth baronet. "The rank of a baronet is between that of a baron and a knight." (Wikipedia)

"Firm en Foi" does seem to be the actual Chichester family motto.

It appears that Sir Edward John Chichester, 11th baronet, was still alive until 2007 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chichester_Baronets) so there couldn't have been any thirteenth baronet in the 1980s.

Rockefeller could never get away with this in the age of Google.

Great job, Frank. You were really good with Greta. Kudos.

The documentation that does exist for this guy is almost as curious as his story.

I'm wondering how he managed to obtain work on Wall Street in the late eighties using either a bogus SS number or (as reported in Dave Copeland's blog at http://www.davecopeland.com/index.php/blog) using the number of David Berkowitz, the "Son of Sam"; or how he managed to register to vote in Cornish NH in 2000 (as reported by the Boston Herald tonight).

If his assumed faked documentation was good enough to prove citizenship to register to vote in 2000, why couldn't he have used the same papers to prove his identity during his divorce proceedings in 2007, thus achieving at least partial custody of his daughter?

If you have any insight, please let us know. I appreciate your coverage.

AS I read the Dave Copeland piece, he was FIRED when the bogus SS# of David Berkowitz.

As for Cornish NH, he may have used a fake DL from downtown NYC, you know, what all the college kids get to sneak into bars. (Voting, you just PRESENT the ID; its not registered.)

In his so-called "divorce" proceedings (really, a probate case: they were NOT married) he refused to provide ANY ID, nada. He could have been jailed on the spot, presenting fake ID in that context. Presumably, he also refused a DNA (paternity) test and could not even be proven Snook's dad. That should be court-ordered immediately, for comparison with any German relatives that are identified in the next week.

The German/Bavarian angle of this story is just 24hrs old - I predict that identity leads will appear, by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
