1-year-old boy fatally struck by van in Pomona
From the Associated Press:
POMONA -- A 1-year-old boy died Friday after authorities say he ran in front of a van and was struck.
Police say the incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. The van's driver, 50-year-old Larry Shyne, drove the boy to a hospital with one of the child's relatives.
The boy, whose identity wasn't immediately released, suffered major injuries and died at the hospital.
Police Sgt. Michael Olivieri says it appears the boy went into the street from the sidewalk and was hit by the van.
No citations or arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

I don't understand! Where was the parents or parent? The attention of the person watching the child must have had their attention somewhere else. A child should be kept under a close watch at all times. Whom ever is responsible for the neglect will have to deal with this for the rest of their life. My heart goes out to the family. It is very heart breaking to lose a child especially when you did not get to enjoy seeing that child grow up.
I am the mother of this child that was it. i was at work and so was my husben at the time this happend. My aunt was crossing the street and the man in the van did not see him.
I am now willing to talk about this if there are any questions. It has been hard for our famliy!!!
