COVINA -- A man stabbed and wounded a teenage boy on Azusa Avenue Wednesday, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 3:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of N. Azusa Avenue, Covina police Lt. John Curley said.
The teen was approached by a man and words were exchanged before the man pulled a knife and stabbed the teen in the back, the lieutenant said.
The wounded boy was taken to a hospital where he is expected to survive, Curley said.
Officials described the attacker as a Latino man of about 19 or 20 years old. He wore a black t-shirt.
The attack was likely gang-related, Curley said.
