Hammer, chemicals used in Pasadena attack

PASADENA -- Police arrested three people Sunday on suspicion of attacking a woman with a hammer and dousing four other people with a dangerous chemical during a family dispute, police said.
Mary King, 54, Zelda Owney, 37, and a 17-year-old boy were booked on suspicion of attempted murder, Pasadena police Lt. Keith Jones said. All three are Pasadena residents.
The incident began about 5 p.m. when a woman went to the home of extended family members in the 300 block of East Washington Boulevard and a verbal argument erupted, the lieutenant said.
The woman left and went home to the 1500 block of El Sereno Avenue, but was followed soon after by a group of people who were at the Washington Boulevard home, Jones said.
One man attacked the woman with a hammer, he said, striking her in the side of the head.
The blow was a glancing one, Jones said. The woman refused medical treatment.
Others in the group of alleged attackers, including Owney, King and the teenage boy, squirted a caustic chemical, later determined to be drain cleaner, on four other people at the El Sereno home, Jones said.
The four people doused with the chemical suffered burns and blistering, he said, and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The hammer-wielding man, as well as other suspects, remained at large Sunday.
According to court records, the adult suspects are being held in lieu of $1 million bail. No information was available regarding their initial court appearance.

Personally I think that people who seems to pass judgement on others when they don't know the full story needs to be silent for this is a tragedy in the life of this family and what is so sad is that America looks down on situations like this when America needs to help people in situations like this with positive community outreach programs to bring family members closer during private altercations among one another. Now here is a family who was in the privacy of their own home, minding their own business when a knock at the door from a family member turns out to be the worst and yes this did happen in Pasadena not to far from the famous "Rose Bowl" this incident exposed the true value of families who have family issues that seemly caused an embarrassment to the family Dynasty. We should pray for the victims in this situation and keep our own opinions to our self before we start passing judgements about others for great harm have been done to this family and their lives will never be the same. However through all this I pray that great healing will be done in this family hearts and restoration takes place with this whole family.
