Pomona man stabbed during fight

POMONA -- An unknown assailant stabbed and seriously wounded a Pomona man during a fight early Saturday, authorities said.
Joseph Jones, 27, was rushed to a trauma center with wounds that were initially believed to be "severely life-threatening," following the 1:41 a.m. incident in the 1300 block of West Mission Boulevard, Pomona police Sgt. Horace Blehr said in a written statement.
After undergoing surgery, his condition was upgraded to stable but guarded, he said.
A description of the suspect was not available, police said.
