LOS ANGELES — Hundreds of family members and friends of homicide victims are expected to gather Friday in Los Angeles to remember and honor loved ones lost to murder.
The gathering is for the third annual “National Day of Remembrance For Murder Victims,” organizers said.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, 500 W. Temple Street.
Speakers will include California Attorney General General Jerry Brown, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca and others.
In Los Angeles, the event is being hosted by the organization Justice For Murdered Children, and will be attended by a host of organizations benefitting family members of homicide victims.
I will be there to represent Neal, Devon and Williams. It’s important, I think, for the victims of homicide to be visible once in a while – we feel so INVISIBLE most of the time.
My Mother will be at DC’s National Day of Rememberence to honor and represent my sister Sherry Larman. This is and always will be a day for the survivors of the victims of homicide to know our loved ones are not forgotten. As the song chorsus says: “We will speak out for our loved ones WHO WERE NOT GIVEN A CHOICE.

Thank you Steve Ipsen for writing and coming up with the idea for “Marsy’s Law”. Criminals have “Miranda Rights” and now we have “Marsy’s rights”. If it weren’t for you and Henry Nicholas we would have nothing. We would never know if the criminals who hurt our family members were in jail or back on the streets. I hope Jerry Brown and Sheriff Baca use Marsy’s law to help enforce the will of the people and make the legislature abide by the California Constitution to keep violent criminals locked up.
