Valinda domestic dispute turns to gunfire

VALINDA – A child custody dispute may have led a Chino man to shoot two of his estranged girlfriend’s relatives, lead police on a short pursuit then shoot himself in the head Monday night, deputies said.

Bryan Ornelas, 21, was taken to Citrus Valley Medical Center, Queen of the Valley campus in West Covina where he was listed in critical condition, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Hiroshi Yokoyama.

  1. Bryan was a very young but bright sweet kid. He definitely will be missed. Very playful and always full of jokes. He is now smiling at us as we have always smiled at his presence. He will always live in all of our hearts. And our prayers are always with him and his entire family and friends. “Having a clear conscious is a better way of living a life. Sorry they just pushed the wrong button my friend.” We will see him soon.
