Two jailed, guns and drugs seized during search

WHITTIER — Deputies arrested two men while searching a home Wednesday where they discovered guns, a silencer, drugs and cash, authorities said.
Marcos Sida, 23, of Whittier and Jeremy Hoy, 28, of Whittier were each being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to sheriff’s booking records.
The search took place about 11 a.m. in the 10700 block of Carmenita Road in an unincorporated county area near Whittier, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Jim McGee said in a written statement.
Officials were seeking a Chivas gang member from Artesia when they visited the home on Carmenita Road, McGee said.
Though no one from Artesia was arrested, officials said, deputies seized several pounds of marijuana, smaller amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine, two handguns, a shotgun, a silencer and unknown amount of cash.
Officials said they also seized two trucks that were at the home.
No information was available Wednesday regarding Sida and Hoy’s initial court appearance.
