COVINA -- A man was flown to the hospital by helicopter Friday after crashing his motorcycle on Covina Boulevard, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 3:55 p.m. on Covina Boulevard, just east of Sunflower Avenue, in an unincorporated county area near Covina, California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos said.
The injured man, who was estimated to be in his early 40s, suffered "severe injuries" to his chest and was flown by helicopter to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. Steve Dochterman said.
The cause of the crash was being investigated by the Baldwin Park office of the CHP.
