SANTA FE SPRINGS -- Police arrested four men and recovered drugs, guns and cash Thursday during a parole sweep, authorities said.
Leopoldo Perez, 30, Michael Sanchez, 33, Tommy Montenegro, 51, and Albert Venegas, 35, were all jailed during the operation, which took place throughout the City of Santa Fe Springs, Whittier police said in a written statement. All four are Santa Fe Springs residents.
"The operation was very productive," the statement said, "resulting in the recovery of marijuana, methamphetamine, prescription amphetamine, paraphernalia, cash, and several firearms, including a high powered assault rifle."
About half a dozen locations were searched in all, Whittier police Officer Mike Dekowski said.
The suspects were all jailed on suspicion of drug-related charges, he said. Montenegro also had an outstanding felony warrant.
No information was available Friday regarding the suspects' initial court appearance.
