WHITTIER -- A Whittier police officer driving through an intersection with his emergency lights and sirens on collided with another vehicle in an intersection late Saturday, officials said.
The crash occurred about 11:15 p.m. at Philadelphia Street and Washington Avenue.
The police car was driving west on Philadelphia Street and proceeding through a red light in response to a report of a fight involving weapons when he collided with another vehicle that was southbound on Washington Avenue, Whittier police Lt. Carlos Solorza said.
No one was injured in the crash, which knocked down a traffic signal, he said.
The Santa Fe Springs Office of the California Highway Patrol was investigating the cause of the crash.
