PASADENA -- A man suspected of being a serial bank robber known as the "Baby Boomer Bandit" is behind bars, authorities said Thursday.
Salvador Sanchez, 64, was arrested early Tuesday in the 800 block of North Mentor Avenue after investigators received information he was living in the area, Pasadena police said in a written statement.
He is suspected in several bank robberies in Pasadena in June and September, according to police and FBI officials.
Sanchez is also believed to be responsible for bank robberies in San Gabriel and Rosemead, authorities said.
Sanchez was placed in federal custody Wednesday and is being held in the Federal Detention Facility in Downtown Los Angeles, police added.
