Norwalk city councilman won’t face charges

NORWALK — Officials announced Friday that charges will not be filed against Norwalk City Councilman Richard Ramirez following his arrest on suspicion of threatening his wife last month.
Ramirez was arrested on Oct. 24 on suspicion of making criminal threats against his wife, officials said.
Prosecutors reviewed the evidence and elected not to file charged, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Shiara Dvila-Morales.
“Based on the evidence presented, we felt that there was insufficient evidence to file any charges,” she said.
Ramirez was released from bail shortly after his arrest after he posted $50,000 bail.
