Man wounded in Norwalk shooting

NORWALK — A man was shot and wounded in a residential neighborhood Thursday, sheriff’s officials said.
The attack was reported just after 5 p.m. in the 15300 block of Maidstone Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Mark Wilkins said.
Few details were initially available regarding the shooting.
The victim, a man estimated to be in his 40s, was walking in the area when he was shot at least once in the abdomen, the lieutenant said. His was hospitalized with serious injuries, however his exact condition was unknown.
The shooter was described as a Latino man in his late teens or early 20s, he said.
A motive in the shooting was not immediately clear, Wilkins said, however it did not appear to be gang-related.
