WEST COVINA — Police Sunday released the name and photograph of a local man suspected of fatally shooting another man on Christmas Eve.
Charles Benjamin Torres, 26, of West Covina is wanted in connection with the slaying of 32-year-old West Covina resident Jesus Saucedo-Herrera, West Covina police Cpl. Rudy Lopez said.
Saucedo-Herrera was found fatally shot shortly before midnight on Christmas Eve inside his apartment in the 1500 block of Harbert Street, police said.
Further details about the shooting were not available.
Carlos Torres, 53, of West Covina and his son Jordan Torres, 21, were arrested Friday in connection with the slaying and were being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
Charles Torres, brother to Jordan Torres and son of Carlos Torres, is believed to have been the gunman in the fatal shooting, police added.
He is described as a Latino, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, Lopez said. He has a noticeable tattoo on the front of his neck.
Anyone who sees him is advised not to approach him, but to call 9-1-1 immediately, Lopez said.
