The crime occurred about 9:30 a.m. at Bank of America, 1501 Nogales Street, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. John Saleeby said.
The would-be robber was described as an Asian man of about 40 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 180 pounds, officials said.
He wore a white baseball cap, a white t-shirt and a gray sweat shirt during the failed robbery.
Saleeby said the man entered the bank and demanded money from a teller, but apparently got nervous and left empty-handed. No getaway car was seen, and the robber did not show a weapon.
